The latest PV (promotional video) for the Under Ninja anime reveals for the first time some animated scenes from the anime, which includes a mix of 2D and 3D animation. The animation is being done by the venerable Tezuka Productions, founded by Osamu Tezuka in 1968, and known for animating notable works such as Astro Boy and Black Jack, and more recently, The Quintessential Quintuplets. Incidentally, Under Ninja is directed by Satoshi Kuwabara, who also directed the first season of Quintuplets.
On the audio side, the opening theme is Hyper, by Kroi. The protagonist Kuro Kumogakure is voiced by Ban Taito.
The Under Ninja anime is an adaptation of the manga of the same name, written and drawn by Kengo Hanazawa, who also authored Boys on the Run and I Am a Hero. Although both had live action movie adaptations, this is the first anime adaptation of his manga. The Under Ninja anime starts in October 5th, 2023. Hopefully it’ll turn out better than the fate of most of the characters shown in the trailer.
