Ubisoft yesterday announced via a reveal trailer the latest game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise titled “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” would be based in Japan. Between that video and subsequent videos released explaining world concepts and the two main characters, there was plenty to digest.
We’re introduced to two protagonists, Naoe, who looks and plays like the more prototypical assassin from earlier Assassin’s Creed games, and Yasuke, the black Samurai who plays like the more modern hack and slash warrior assassin from more recent Assassin’s Creed fare. It looks like you can (or will) switch between the two characters. How much choice you actually get in the matter? We’ll find out later. Anyway, they get a closer look in the video below:
Ubisoft then followed up these two videos with a look of the overall world and explanation of what we saw in the earlier videos from some of the developers working on the game, some of the other main players, and what the Sengoku Jidai period was all about.
As with any recent-ish Assassin’s Creed game you can pre-order it for pretty much any platform and in multiple editions from standard, gold and ultimate and also on Ubisoft+ (who has Ubisoft+ ?)
Assassin’s Creed Shadows releases November 15th, 2024
