Aniplex Online Fest (AOF) 2023 was a 6 hour extravaganza, live streamed on September 9th 2023, that celebrated Aniplex’s past, present, and upcoming releases. Out of that 6 hours, we have filtered all the new trailers to only include ones featuring visuals from brand new anime or new seasons (excluding repeats, remakes and remasters), and are listed here by order of appearance.
1. The Elusive Samurai
The Elusive Samurai, or 逃げ上手の若君 (lit. ‘The Young Lord Who Is Skilled at Escaping’), is an anime TV series adaptation by CloverWorks of a Japanese historical manga series written and illustrated by Yusei Matsui (creator of Assassination Classroom). It’s set to premiere in 2024. Here’s the new trailer featuring a visual of the main character, Tokiyuki Hojo.
2. The Concierge
The Concierge, or 北極百貨店のコンシェルジュさん (literally ‘The Concierge at the Arctic Department Store’), is an anime movie adaptation by Production I.G of a Japanese fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Tsuchika Nishimura. It’s set to premiere on October 20th 2023 in Japan. Here’s the new trailer featuring the theme song Gift, by Myuk:
3. Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga
Shimane Illuminati Saga, or 島根啓明結社篇, is the 3rd season of the anime TV series adaptation of Blue Exorcist, or 青の祓魔師, a Japanese dark fantasy manga series. Produced by Studio VOLN, it is set to premiere in January 2024, 7 years since the last season was released in 2017. Here’s the new teaser trailer:
4. Black Butler: Public School Arc
Public School Arc, or 寄宿学校編, is the 4th season of the anime TV series adaptation of the Black Butler, or 黒執事, a Japanese dark fantasy manga. Produced by CloverWorks, it is set to premiere in 2024, 10 years since the last season was released in 2014. Here’s the new trailer featuring visuals of the P4:
5. Heat the Pig Liver
One of the oddest sounding titles featured in AOF 2023, Heat the Pig Liver, or 豚のレバーは加熱しろ, is a new anime TV series adaptation by Project No.9 of a Japanese isekai light novel series written by Takuma Sakai. It’s set to premier in Japan on October 7th 2023. Here’s the new trailer:
6. A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special
A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special, or 帰還者の魔法は特別です, is a new anime TV series adaptation by Arvo Animation. Based on 귀환자의 마법은 특별해야 합니다, a South Korean fantasy adventure web novel turned webtoon written by Usonan, the anime adaptation is set to premiere in October 2023. Here’s the new trailer:
7. My New Boss Is Goofy
My New Boss Is Goofy, or 新しい上司はど天然, is a anime TV series adaptation by A-1 Pictures of a Japanese office comedy manga series written and illustrated by Dan Ichikawa. It is set to premier in Japan on October 7th 2023. Here’s the new official trailer:
8. The Demon Prince of Momochi House
The Demon Prince of Momochi House, or 百千さん家のあやかし王子, is an anime TV series adaptation by Drive. Based on a Japanese supernatural romance manga series by Aya Shouoto, the anime is set to premiere in 2024. Here’s the new teaser trailer:
9. Delico’s Nursery
From the dark fantasy theatre production with a cursed name, TRUMP Series, short for True of Vamp, comes a brand new anime TV series by J.C.Staff. Featuring vampire racial supremacy, (Blood Alliance) congress, an ‘anti-social organization’ Pendulum, and babies, it is set to premier in 2024. Here’s the new trailer:
10. Demon Lord 2099
Demon Lord 2099, or 魔王2099, is an anime TV series adaptation by J.C.Staff. Based on a Japanese cyberpunk fantasy light novel series written by Daigo Murasaki, there is no set date for release yet. Here’s the new teaser visual trailer:
11. Solo Leveling
Solo Leveling, or 俺だけレベルアップな件, is an anime TV series adaptation by A-1 Pictures. Based on 나 혼자만 레벨업, a South Korean action fantasy web novel turned webtoon, the anime is set to premier in January 2024. Here’s the new official trailer:
12. 16bit Sensation: Another Layer
16bit Sensation: Another Layer, or 16bitセンセーション ANOTHER LAYER, is a anime TV series adaptation produced by Studio Silver. It is based on the Japanese manga 16bitセンセーション 私とみんなが作った美少女ゲーム (literally ’16bit Sensation: The Bishoujo Game Made by All of You and I’) illustrated and written by Tamiki Wakaki (creator of The World God Only Knows). 13. Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgisnacht Rising
From the creators of the original Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime TV series, comes a sequel to a movie that upended the satisfying ending of the original TV series. Original director Akiyuki Shinbo, scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi, character designer Ume Aoki and composer Yuki Kajiura are back together for this Shaft production, set to premier in winter of 2024, 11 years after the release of its prequel, Rebellion, in 2013.
