Sakura-Con announced on February 29, 2024, that voice actors Soichiro Hoshi and Rie Tanaka will be appearing as guests at the annual convention in Seattle, Washington.
Soichiro Hoshi and Rie Tanaka provided their voices as Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne respectively in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series. Both have prolific careers in anime voice acting, reaching back to the 1990s.
Soichiro Hoshi’s key roles have included Goro Akechi in Persona 5, Keiichi Maebara in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series, Kazuma in s-CRY-ed, Son Goku in Saiyuki, Yukimura Sanada in Sengoku Basara series, Momose Sunohara in Idolish7, and many others.
Rie Tanaka also plays Meer Campbell in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series. Her key roles include Mitsuru Kirijo in Persona 3, Koyomi (Yomi) Mizuhara in Azumanga Daioh, Chi and Freya in Chobits, Morganna in .hack//SIGN, Suigintou in Rozen Maiden, Neptune (Purple Heart) in Hyperdimension Neptunia series, Hikari Kujo (Shiny Luminous) in PreCure series, and many more.
Sakura-Con 2024 will run from March 29 to March 31 at the Seattle Convention Center. Guest schedules are TBA.
