The first episode of My Three-Body Season 4 (Chinese: 我的三体 第四季) is out! Here’s how to watch the entire season, and all previous seasons, for free.

Option 1: Bilibili (Chinese only)

As My Three-Body Season 4 is a Bilibili (Chinese: 哔哩哔哩, or B站) production, the obvious choice is to watch it on Bilibili. It’s free to go watch, and the on-screen fly-in comments system might make watching even more fun and communal, but everything, from the website interface to the subtitles, are only in Chinese. Still, if you can understand Chinese, this is the official site to catch not only Season 4, but also catch up on all the previous 3 seasons, for free.

What is My Three-Body?

My Three-Body (Chinese: 我的三体), also known as The Three-Body Problem in Minecraft, is a Chinese 3D animated series based on Remembrance of Earth’s Past (Chinese: 地球往事), also known simply as Three-Body (Chinese: 三体), the science fiction novel series by writer Liu Cixin (Chinese: 刘慈欣). Season 1 was a fan-made machinima done using Minecraft. Although the show became an official adaptation and worked with a higher budget from Season 2 onwards, it continues to maintain the same blocky Minecraft aesthetic all the way into Season 4.

What is Going to Happen In Season 4?

Season 1 covered the first book in the novel series, The Three-Body Problem (Chinese: 三体). Season 2: The Legend of Luo Ji (Chinese: 第二季/罗辑传) covered the second book, The Dark Forest (Chinese: 黑暗森林), only from the perspective of Luo Ji (Chinese: 罗辑), the protagonist. Season 3: The Legend of Zhang Beihai (Chinese: 第三季/章北海传) also covered The Dark Forest, but from the perspective of Zhang Beihai (Chinese: 章北海), the main character in a parallel plot. Season 4 looks set to cover the third book, Death’s End (Chinese: 死神永生), from the perspective of the (literally) star-crossed lovers Cheng Xin (Chinese: 程心) and Yun Tianming (Chinese: 云天明). Season 4 is also the first season since season one not to have a subtitle with the name of a single character in it, indicating it probably won’t be focusing on a single character this time.
