Godzilla Minus One, The Boy and the Heron both win Academy Awards

At the 96th annual Academy Awards, both “Godzilla Minus One” and “The Boy and the Heron” picked up Oscars, with “Godzilla Minus One” winning for Visual Effects, and “The Boy and the Heron” winning for Best Animated Feature. This is the first win for the “Godzilla Minus One” crew, including Takashi Yamazaki, Kiyoko Shibuya, Masaki Takahashi and Tatsuji Nojima. Meanwhile, “The Boy and the Heron” represents Studio Ghibli’s 2nd Oscars victory, with Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki’s first being 2002’s “Spirited Away.”
