Just in time for the Canada Day / U.S. Independence Day long weekend (also for those who are *not* going to Anime Expo), as announced by Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida (also known as “Yoshi-P”), the Final Fantasy XIV “Dawntrail” expansion will release on July 2nd, with early access to those that pre-order (pre-orders available from March 26th), on June 28th.
Pre-orders get in game items: a Wind-up Zidane minion (from Final Fantasy 9) and a pair of Azeyma’s earrings for signing up.
For those that purchase the collectors edition, your in game items also inlcude: an Ark mount (the ship from FF9), along with a Wind-up Garnet minion (also FF9), and a special Chocobo Brush for the new Pictomancer job.
Yoshida says he was actually planning to launch the expansion a week earlier, but changed his mind after another announcement. “We figured everybody would be interested in playing the Elden Ring DLC”, he laughs. “I’ll give you one week to enjoy that, and then go onto your summer vacation in Dawntrail.”
You can expect the following to be included in the new expansion:
- Level cap increase from 90 to 100
- Tural, a vast continent where new adventures await
- New cities: Tuliyollal and Solution Nine
- Distinctive new areas, including Urqopacha, Yak T’el, Kozama’uka, Shaaloani, and Heritage Found
- New allies to encounter: the Pelupelu, Moblins, Mamool Ja, Yok Huy, and Hanuhanu
- New threats to overcome, including Valigarmanda, Eliminator, and the Barreltender
- New dungeons
- A new raid series: The Arcadion
- A new alliance raid series: Echoes of Vana’diel
- A new limited job: Beastmaster
- Expansive new lifestyle content: Cosmic Exploration
- New gear and crafting recipes
- New variant dungeons
- New Field Operations
- A new Ultimate raid: Futures Rewritten (Ultimate)
