For the latest installment of the English version of Bleach – Thousand Year Blood War, Voice Actress Anairis Quiñones had announced that she would be voicing the role of Yoruichi on October 7th:

However, over the weekend, she revealed that she had been re-casted with another tweet:

Obviously, may people including other Voice Actors had opinions on this re-recasting, including the original English Language Voice Actress Wendee Lee, who replied to some of the reactions like this:

However, late this morning, Wendee had responded to Anairis’s original announcement post with this:

So, all’s well that ends well in Voiceover land? Honestly, it should have never gotten to this point. Re-casting a character is one thing, it happens often enough. But letting the new actress announce it, then dropping her a couple weeks later for the original actress? Between the Casting Director, the dub studio, Viz, Hulu…. there are so many levels this needed to pass through, it should have never got to this point. Never mind the whole concept of dropping a Person of Color from a role where the character is a Person of Color.

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War is currently streaming on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in Canada.
